Frames
Would you know
if the frames you are purchasing were made from a high quality material that
should be long lasting and suitable for your face and easy to wear? Would you
know if the quality of the product for that eyewear frame is inferior or the
frame cannot be compatible for bending to your face shape or able to retain the
shape of that adjustment? Or would you know if you have an average to high
quality pair of prescription glasses or an inferior quality frame that simply
cannot contain the lens very well? A lens can fall out from the frames due to
poor fitting frames, and then can become frustrating to the point you will not
wear them. The reality could mean that the "good value" you thought you were
purchasing was nothing more than an aggravation and waste of your time, not
to mention your money.

The
variety of frames are being made in many leading countries such as, in Japan,
India, France, Germany, Austria, ,Korea, China, U.S. and Hong Kong. The ranges
of quality vary with the amount of the countries they are made in, from a high
quality to poor quality. The European benchmark for showing the quality is a
certification stamped on the arm of the frames; if the frame does not contain
that mark, one can assume it has not passed a certified inspection process.
First thing to look for in purchasing new frames is that mark on the inside arm
of the frames. The problems with frames that are not inspected are; they can
look great and stylish when you are trying them on, but the quality can be so
inferior they will not wear for any length of time and your problems will begin
the very day you begin to wear them.
At
Salem Eye Clinic we only offer high quality certified frames from some of the
top rated brands in the market. All of the frames we carry are selected to
provide you the consumer, with a varied assortment of well-built styles. This
offers the confidence that knowing whatever you select will be a great looking,
long wearing, comfortable frame that will shower you with compliments from your
friends and family.
Titanium
Titanium is 48% lighter on the face, but containing the same steel
endurance. Titanium is an extremely popular choice in eyewear frames because of
this fact; they are resistant to corrosion and create no sensitivities from the
metal. This product has no adverse reaction to people's skin or their skin oils,
which prevents allergic skin eruptions the tainting of the frames color. There
are a lot of variances in the percentages of Titanium substance used in the
making of a single frame. Some frames are advertised containing Titanium, but
not revealing the small percentage of Titanium actually used. Other frames use
no other metal than Titanium. Our clinic has made that part easy for you, so you
can feel confident that we carry only the very best frames that will endure the
daily wearing, stretching, dropping and scratching and gives you the comfort and
high style you deserve.
Plastics
 |
Two
different plastics are used in the production of most frames made - those being
thermoplastics (which can be heated and re-shaped) and those which can't be
re-formed, known as thermosetting plastic. Almost all eyewear frames are made
from plastics which can lose their shape with the heat of your skin, and they do
not contain 100% of the bendable and reshaping plastic, thermoplastic. Frames
are in some instances, made from inferior products of nylon or from compounds of
plastics and nylon products, and they will not soften safely while reshaping
and or using heat when trying to make them fit your face.
Our optician is trained in
recognizing these inferior products. We can recommend which frame
material would serve you best with your particular prescription. We remove those
problems you may encounter, especially with your first purchase of eyewear. We
have lower priced quality frames also, and these have been carefully hand
selected to guarantee the value, reflected in
affordability.
